Gas Technology Products Broadens Portfolio of Hydrogen Sulfide Removal Solutions with The Eliminator™

Schaumburg, IL — Gas Technology Products introduces The Eliminator™ for quick, cost-effective hydrogen sulfide and mercaptan removal. The Eliminator is designed to treat sour gases and sour liquids and with adequate mixing, it can also be used to remove H₂S from sludges.

Unlike most hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) removal products currently in use, The Eliminator is a water soluble liquid. Because of its liquid nature, The Eliminator can be sprayed directly into a gas stream or injected into a liquid stream and standard static mixers can be used to achieve the required degree of contacting. The result: installation is very simple, implementation times are minimized and capital expenditures are reduced relative to tradition H₂S removal products.

According to Gary Nagl, VP & General Manager of Gas Technology Products, "the chemistry is straightforward and the reaction is fast acting. The Eliminator reacts with H₂S and mercaptans to form non-corrosive, non-hazardous, biodegradable byproducts. Disposal of the byproducts is easy and in many applications these byproducts have been found to inhibit corrosion of processing equipment."

The Eliminator is one of the most cost effective means of removing hydrogen sulfide in small-capacity applications where H₂S levels are equal to or less than approximately 150 kg/day and for systems where carbon dioxide (CO₂) removal is not required. For maximum utilization of The Eliminator, standard lead-lag vessel systems are employed. The Eliminator is available for immediate shipment and is in use in several applications worldwide.
