Gas Technology Products To Supply LO-CAT® II Process For PetroChina

Schaumburg, IL, August 8, 2000 — Gas Technology Products will supply its patented LO-CAT® II hydrogen sulfide removal process to PetroChina's: Southwest Gas Mining District, Southwest Oil-Gas Field Company of China Oil-Gas Limited Stock Corporation in Maojiaba, Zigong City, Sichuan P.R.C.

The LO-CAT II process, engineered by Gas Technology Products' Gas Technology Products, will remove hydrogen sulfide from the facility's amine acid gas and have the capacity to remove 1.12 metric tons per day of hydrogen sulfide. The treated gas is guaranteed to meet a less than 10 ppm hydrogen sulfide specification.

PetroChina selected Gas Technology Products' LO-CAT II process in view of its excellent worldwide operating experience in H2S removal applications. In addition, PetroChina valued Gas Technology Products' ability to utilize its resources in China to provide a complete equipment package.

The LO-CAT II process is a liquid oxidation process that converts, toxic hydrogen sulfide into non-hazardous, elemental sulfur. The process employs a proprietary, environmentally safe, chelated iron catalyst that is continuously regenerated in the unit. All LO-CAT units are guaranteed for both sulfur capacity and hydrogen sulfide removal efficiency. Currently, there are 146 licensed LO-CAT units.
