Schaumburg, Ill., June 11, 2000 -- By combining a simple ordering process, easy installation, and trouble-free operation, Gas Technology Products now offers the most complete and simple solution to H2S removal. The standardized Sulfur-Rite® equipment package eliminates costs and time associated with system design and significantly reduces fabrication costs and lead time. As a result, the Sulfur Rite H2S removal system has a shorter concept-to-completion phase, is significantly less capital intensive, and provides reduced operation and maintenance costs far below typical H2S removal systems.
Standard packages are initially being offered for low pressure applications, ideal for landfill, municipal and industrial biogas, and vent gas applications. The Sulfur-Rite systems are available in a broad range of sizes to handle flows up to 2500 scfm. The standardized systems have the flexibility to operate in parallel or can be custom-designed for higher flows and pressures. Standardized systems for high pressure applications, including natural gas processing, will soon be available.
The system, which converts hydrogen sulfide into iron pyrite, a stable, non-hazardous compound, consists of one or two vertical vessels and piping. Non-toxic media removes three to five times more hydrogen sulfide than typical iron sponge systems without the hidden disposal costs. The system does not require expensive ancillary equipment, such as filters, additives or flare gas makeup. There are no moving parts to maintain and no air emissions to control.
