Gas Technology Products Announces the Sale of LO-CAT® System to Shaanix Yanchang Petroleum Group for Removal of Syngas Prior to Desulfurization.

The Gas Technology Products division of Merichem Chemicals & Refinery Services LLC is currently designing a coal gasification syngas treatment system for Yunnan Yunwei Group Co., Inc. to be installed at their Qujing City facility in China. The detailed design and supply of the equipment will be completed by Sinopec Engineering Institute and Beijing Petrochemical Design Institute respectively.

The syngas treatment system will remove HCN, H2S and COS. HCN and COS destruction will be achieved by utilizing a SudChemie hydrolysis catalyst to pre treat the syngas prior to desulfurization. The required sulfur removal capacity is 4.5 TPD, and will be achieved with the LO-CAT® Hydrogen Sulfide Oxidation Process. The LO-CAT unit will to reduce the H2S levels to less than 1 ppmv.
