Aerobic Systems for Odor Control
In the aerobic design, hydrogen sulfide laden air enters the absorber vessel, where it contacts the LO-CAT® catalyst solution. Almost instantaneously, the chemical reaction produces solid sulfur, which is filtered out of the catalyst solution. Oxygen in the air continually regenerates the catalyst, which is used over and over again.
Air stream flowrate and H2S concentration determine the size of the absorber. LO-CAT® units can be designed to handle air flow rates from a few hundred to several hundred thousand scfm and H2S concentrations from 50 ppmv to several thousand ppmv.
Typically, the air stream is discharged to atmosphere once the H2S is removed.
