LO-CAT® II Unit Treats Landfill Gas Prior To Use In Turbine

The Broward County, Florida, landfill collects approximately 9 MMSCFD of landfill gas from 300 wells and converts the gas to electricity on-site at the nation's largest landfill gas turbine-to-energy plant. Increasing H2S concentration in the landfill gas caused severe odor problems, corrosion in the compressors, and SO2 emission problems in the turbine exhaust gas.

A LO-CAT® II hydrogen sulfide oxidation system was installed to treat up to 15 MMSCFD of landfill gas containing up to 5,000 ppmv H2S.
